The Club was originally formed in 1984 in partnership with the Western Australian Institute of Technology (WAIT) now Curtin University. Over this time the Club has produced 38 athletes who have successfully competed at the international level including the Diamond League and the Olympics.
Our athletes have also successfully competed in many professional running events in Australia including:

- The Bay Sheffield Footrace
Curtin Athletics Club has nurtured and supported hundreds of athletes in their endeavour to achieve a personal best regardless of the level at which they compete.
The Curtin University Athletics Club has partnered with the Girrawheen Senior High School to deliver an Elite Sports Program (unique to Girrawheen SHS) providing expert coaching for the Athletics component of the schools Elite Sports Program.
